As a UCSB alum, I created my restaurant in Isla Vista because I understand the college student community and their needs. After working in fine dining for the past eight years, I wanted to return to Isla Vista to provide a unique, elevated, and affordable dining experience.

 

My mission is to introduce students to a diverse range of cuisines, using my extensive travels in Asia, Southeast Asia, and Europe as inspiration. I hope my dishes serve as a culinary gateway, and spark a love and curiosity for cultures around the world with every bite. By offering delicious and authentic meals from Mexican, Japanese, Indian, and other global cuisines, I hope to inspire students to explore and travel to the countries my food represents.

 

Teddy Rice is dedicated to enhancing the dining experience in Isla Vista, ensuring that students eat well, and inspiring a lifelong appreciation for diverse culinary traditions. ​
